EAST HARTFORD, CT. –  American Eagle Federal Credit Union established a Donor-Advised Fund with the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving to foster the Credit Union’s renewed support for charitable giving and community outreach.  

The Fund will serve as American Eagle Federal Credit Union’s primary charitable investment vehicle that allows the Credit Union and its stakeholders to provide ongoing financial support to the Greater Hartford area. The Fund provides the Credit Union with the flexibility to meet its charitable goals by recommending grants to qualified nonprofit organizations. “The structure of this fund allows the Credit Union to be actively involved with fundraising and charitable giving, while leveraging the expertise and experience of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. It puts us in an excellent position to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to community outreach and development,” said William Dokas, President/CEO of American Eagle Federal Credit Union. The Hartford Foundation holds and administers over 1,000 funds, including 135 donor-advised funds.

The Credit Union is also enlisting the help of its 270 employees as volunteers to host several fundraising events this year, including a miniature golf tournament and bowl-a-thon, with a goal of raising contributions for the fund. American Eagle FCU is currently participating in the Chip In for Charity Program by selling tickets to the Travelers Championship Golf Tournament. $10 from each ticket sold online will be donated to the American Eagle Federal Credit Union Fund.
