American Eagle Financial Credit Union announces new location of East Hartford branch

New branch conveniently located just a block away from previous location offers safe, contactless services

EAST HARTFORD, CT (December 16, 2020)

Continuing its 85-year history as a committed East Hartford neighbor, American Eagle Financial Credit Union (AEFCU) announces the new location of its East Hartford branch at 361 Main Street.

The 3,500-square-foot branch is located just one block away from its previous site at 417 Main Street, and is now part of a new 25,000-square-foot complex owned by Goodwin University at the intersection of Main and Ensign streets.

AEFCU’s new East Hartford branch opened on December 14.

“Our new location provides a modern, state-of-the-art experience that is further enhanced by the great customer service our East Hartford staff is known for,” said Dean Marchessault.  “This new branch also reflects our commitment to partner with other East Hartford institutions, like Goodwin University, to create a vital and engaged community.”

AEFCU’s East Hartford branch will continue to be led by Branch Manager Santo Pirrotta.  Customers will have access to both AEFCU associates inside the branch and safe, contactless services outside the bank.

The outdoor, drive-thru experience is now improved by three video teller machines (VTMs) that provide camera-enabled interface with an AEFCU associate who can assist members with many of their banking needs, including check depositing, cash withdrawals, balance inquiries and transferring of funds.

The hours of operation inside the new branch are as follows:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The hours of operations for drive-thru VTM services are:

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Both AEFCU members and non-members may use the three ATMs at the new East Hartford branch.

The doors to AEFCU’s new East Hartford office opened nearly 68 years after the previous Main Street branch opened in 1952.  AEFCU was founded in East Hartford in 1935 as East Hartford Aircraft Federal Credit Union when it served only Pratt & Whitney employees. The cooperative changed its charter in 2006 to become a community-based institution that today serves more than 160,000 members who live, work, attend schools or worship in Hartford, Middlesex, Tolland, and New Haven County in Connecticut, and Hampden County in Massachusetts.

In addition to the Main Street branch, American Eagle Federal Credit Union’s corporate office is located in East Hartford, in a 100,000-square-foot building at 333 East River Drive.
