American Eagle Financial Credit Union’s annual campaign raises $34,933 for United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut

EAST HARTFORD, CT (January 26, 2016) — On Wednesday, January 13, Dean Marchessault, President & CEO, and Susan Bushnik, SVP Chief Talent Officer, American Eagle Financial Credit Union, presented Susan Dunn, CEO, United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut and Gary Soltoff, Donor Relations Manager, with a donation of $34,933 as part of AEFCU’s annual campaign. The donation comprised $18,371 that employees pledged, an $8,846 grant from American Eagle’s Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, and $7,716 that was raised through the Credit Union’s “Wear Jeans to Work on Friday” campaign. Michael Ferraro, Vice President of Consumer Lending at American Eagle Financial Credit Union, was this year’s Campaign Chairman for AEFCU and was instrumental to the successful fundraising efforts.

Since 2000, American Eagle Financial Credit Union has partnered with United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut for an annual campaign in which the Credit Union’s employees have the opportunity to donate, volunteer, and speak out about causes that matter to them. American Eagle’s annual campaign is about far more than just raising money for worthy causes: It is truly a representation of the organization’s commitment to strengthening connections between employees and the communities in which they serve.

Susan Dunn commented on AEFCU’s generous grant donation by saying, “We so appreciate American Eagle’s continued generous support of our community through United Way. This is just one way in which American Eagle’s team demonstrates the importance of supporting children and families in our community.”
