American Heritage Federal Credit Union raises $28,000 for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia by sliding into 700 gallons of gelatin

PHILADELPHIA, PA (June 10, 2016) — American Heritage and the Kids-N-Hope Foundation’s 23rd Annual Gelatin Olympics raised over $28,000 for the Children’s Seashore House at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

Over ­100 sliders gathered pledges from sponsors in the weeks leading up to the event, dressed up in their wildest costumes, and took the plunge into a pool full of 700 gallons of bright red gelatin. Bill Taffrow, Morning Drive Co-Host on 101.1 MORE FM, emceed the event, and brought tremendous enthusiasm and hometown flair for the audience. In addition to the Ultimate Gelatin Slide, children of all ages participated in the Gelatin Eating Contest, Balloon Toss Contest, Gelatin Seek and Find and other fun games.

For over twenty years, the Gelatin Olympics has raised money for the Kids-N-Hope Foundation, which benefits the Music Therapy Program for the developmentally disabled children at the Children’s Seashore House of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. With the support of the Foundation, the hospital is able to meet the emotional and physical needs of these special children.
