America’s Christian Credit Union celebrates first members

GLENDORA, CA (January 22, 2018) — January 1st marked the start of an exciting milestone year for America’s Christian Credit Union (ACCU). That week, ACCU formally launched its 60th anniversary celebration, commemorating six decades of financial strength.

Halfway into the first month of the ambitious year-long celebration, ACCU is taking a moment to reflect and thank those who first caught the credit union’s vision of the mission. The original 80 members of the credit union who joined at ACCU’s inception were identified among the current 145,000+ membership base. Each of these 80 charter members received a letter from President/CEO Mendell L. Thompson along with Diamonds in the Dust, a devotional favorite and a “treasure trove of diamond chips,” according to its author Joni Eareckson Tada.

Accompanying the gifts was a special request from Thompson, inviting members to engage in the celebration by sharing their own ACCU stories. The original 80 members were encouraged to write back, sharing their story of legacy membership. “The beauty of America’s Christian Credit Union is that it has stayed true to serving members with the highest standard of excellence. As a result,” commented Thompson, “we have not just existed, but flourished these past six decades. We would be remiss not to invite them to be a part of this year-long celebration.”
