TEXAS CITY, TX (December 2, 2014) -- AMOCO Federal Credit Union is looking for their next 2015 scholarship hopefuls. For the sixth consecutive year, AMOCO is proud to continue a tradition that supports well-deserving high school and college students by investing in their future.
AMOCO’s 2015 Scholarship will award three scholarships worth $1,000 each. An additional George F. Ballis Honorarium Scholarship, named in honor of the late AMOCO CEO and President, worth $2,000 will also be given for the first time to one lucky student. To qualify for the George F. Ballis Honorarium Scholarship, all standard requirements must be fulfilled, and an additional essay of why that student captures the spirit of Mr. Ballis must also be completed.
All four winners will be offered an opportunity to gain experience through a paid summer internship at AMOCO. The purpose of the internship is to enhance the student’s teamwork and leadership skills, along with allowing the students to familiarize themselves in a professional setting.
