AMOCO Federal Credit Union partnered with other credit unions to host an annual appreciation event for local elected officials on October 30, 2023.
The annual event started as an after-hours mixer in 2009 with more than 125 people in attendance. However, in 2022, the event was transitioned to a more intimate luncheon.
Credit unions and elected officials are committed to bettering the communities in which they serve. This annual event started as a mission to strengthen relationships and to share important initiatives impacting credit union members and their community.
Since its inception, executives and volunteers from participating credit unions have facilitated meaningful conversations that have led to positive changes, deeper understandings of credit union topics, and how we can all work collectively to help our community. “AMOCO likes to develop relationships with like-minded community members who have servant’s hearts and are committed to people helping people. This is why AMOCO is honored to be able to recognize and show appreciation to our elected officials who are committed to enhancing the communities in which we serve,” AMOCO President & CEO, Shawn Bailey, shared.
This year, Fogo de Chao-Webster served as the location for the event. Guests were greeted with savory appetizers and warm introductions before being seated and served an array of various food options. From the beautiful floral centerpieces to the impeccable service, no detail was missed in ensuring that the atmosphere was inviting and memorable.
AMOCO FCU, Wellby Financial, and First Service Credit Union were in attendance, as well as local elected officials and field representatives representing Galveston, Harris, and Brazoria counties on both the district and state levels.
Advocating for its members will always be the top priority for AMOCO FCU. This includes continuing to participate in topics related to credit unions on the local and state levels.
