LEAGUE CITY, Texas (October 18, 2011) – AMOCO Federal Credit Union’s Earn or Burn Home Edition began Oct. 8, 2011 with its first of eight seminars focused on educating individuals on the ins and outs of the home buying process. AMOCO is offering the seminar series through April 2012 to help provide knowledge to future home buyers on how to make the right home purchasing decisions.

Earn or Burn Home Edition is an effort to promote more financial literacy in the community. AMOCO will be hosting one seminar per month for the next seven months, with each seminar touching on a different home buying topic. Seminars cover everything from “Understanding Credit” to “How Much House Can You Afford”. The seminars are open to the community and for a schedule of seminars please visit www.AMOCOfcu.org.

“With the ups and downs in the housing market, we want the community to know we are here for them,” says Tina Linquist, vice president of culture and communications. “These seminars allow us the opportunity to provide education on how the home buying process works, which is typically a very stressful topic, in a fun and interactive manner.”

For those individuals that attend all eight seminars, they will be entered into a drawing for a $2,500 prize. For those that would like to attend but have missed the first seminar, there are still many opportunities to not only gain valuable knowledge but to be included in the fun. At each seminar, there is a chance to win door prizes and meet with others that have the same goal of being a home owner. Educating yourself on finances and the process of purchasing a home can be a fun and fulfilling experience.

AMOCO Federal Credit Union is a member-owned financial organization. AMOCO‘s mission is to “serve and satisfy its members” and has done just that over the past 74 years.
