Andrews Federal is pleased to announce that their lifetime Credit Union member, Jenna Schniegenberg, has won the 2021 CU Foundation of MD|DC Scholarship Program. Jenna is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship to help cover the cost of college. Jenna was made eligible for the scholarship through her membership with Andrews Federal Credit Union.
Jenna is a third chemical engineering student at the University of Cincinnati, currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). She recently completed an internship at NASA Glenn Research Center and is expected to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and an MBA in May 2023.
The CU Foundation MD|DC program occurs annually, and a total of $12,000 is donated to college students. This year’s essay topic was, “How do Credit Unions demonstrate the phrase, “Not for Profit, Not for Charity, But for Service”?
“It’s a wonderful feeling to see Credit Unions contributing to the future of the next generation,” said Jim Hayes, President/CEO, Andrews Federal. “This young lady is smart and talented. Without a doubt, she will achieve greatness in her future endeavors.”
“Our program is designed so Credit Unions can offer the scholarship as their own,” noted Foundation Programs Committee Chair Janet Oursler. “It’s a great tool for Credit Unions to use to increase youth membership and educate students on Credit Union values and services. Every Credit Union in Maryland and DC should promote this free program for their members.”
