With much anticipation, Andrews Federal Credit Union and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce the launch of the Andrews Shares Foundation, Inc. The 501(c)(3) public Foundation was created with a simple vision in mind: Everyone deserves the right to be empowered to live financially independent.
“This new Foundation will thrive on a mission to honor our military and inspire the communities we serve to stand on stronger financial footing. We look forward to educating them to take control of their finances and their lives,” said Gerald Brown, Chairman for the Andrews Shares Foundation.
The Foundation will rely solely on the efforts of volunteers and the financial support of the Credit Union, its business partners, and the public. The Foundation will contribute to numerous military and civilian philanthropic opportunities in the coming years.
Andrews Share will operate as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization collaborating with the Credit Union. The Foundation will support community donations, financial literacy, and more. The Foundation will oversee grants in the communities they serve for education and other community development.
To kick off the charitable contributions, the Andrews Shares Foundation has awarded $20,000 in scholarship funds to high school seniors who are heading to college in the fall and $5,000 to children attending summer camps this year.
The Andrews Shares Foundation Board of Directors is deeply committed to improving the financial wellbeing of the communities it serves. Programs will provide civilian and military families the financial support they need to make intelligent financial decisions that lead to a brighter future.
