Andrews Federal participates in Take Over School Day
SUITLAND, MD (April 27, 2017) — Andrews Federal Credit Union was recently invited to “Take Over School Day”. This annual event is held every March at the SHAPE American Middle School as an opportunity to bring in community partners to share their knowledge with the students.
Presenters were given four separate classes of approximately 20 to 30 students, to provide knowledge and education about their career fields. Andrews Federal was asked to speak about saving for college, loans, accounts, and how the stock market works. After class, Andrews Federal provided cake to the students as a thank you for their participation.
“It is a privilege to come and speak with the students about finances,” said Andrews Federal’s Joshua Barrett, Chievres Branch Manager. “They are very receptive to information and quite inquisitive. This was a great opportunity to impart some knowledge and wisdom while they are beginning to look for summer jobs and think about their future.”

Joshua Barrett, Chievres Branch Manager presents a cake to Dr. Mario Vanheuckelom, SHAPE American Middle School Principal for “Take Over School Day”.
