Anheuser-Busch Employees’ Credit Union makes big move

ABECU remains committed to St. Louis by recent purchase of new headquarters.

ST. LOUIS, MO (June 20, 2017) — Anheuser-Busch Employees’ Credit Union (ABECU) and its divisions, American Eagle Credit Union and Purina Credit Union, is moving its corporate headquarters. ABECU recently finalized the purchase of the state-of-the-art building located at 423 Lynch Street along with adjacent property previously owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev.  The Credit Union will take possession on October 1, and plans a 5-6 month renovation process.

Located just a few blocks away from the Credit Union’s current headquarters at 1001 Lynch Street, and a few miles south of downtown St. Louis, ABECU is committed to the St. Louis community and to growing within the city. “This is an exciting move for us! As an organization, our promise is to assist our members with their financial needs and goals, build sustainable relationships, and support the communities we serve. This move not only solidifies our commitment to our members and our community, the new headquarters will create a first-class working environment for our employees, provide for faster innovation, and enhance the high service levels our members have come to enjoy and expect,” stated CEO, Bob McKay.

With a beautiful view of the St. Louis skyline, the modern building has many features that will enhance the work environment for the ABECU employees including an on-site café, open floor plan, gated parking, and natural daylight for every floor.  In addition, its environmentally progressive design is one of the few buildings in St. Louis with an earthquake resistant build.

The credit union itself has been nothing but progressive over the past 78 years.  As an authentic St. Louis brand, with roots forming in 1939, ABECU has multiplied in membership, expanded locations and accessibility throughout the St. Louis community, and increased its product and service offering, rivaling the best. “For more than seven solid decades, the Credit Union has put its members and community first, committing itself to making a difference.”  McKay added, “We are here to stay and resolute in this commitment, looking ahead to our future growth.”

Previously owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev, the purchase reinforces the Credit Union’s relationship with the brewery and its commitment to serving AB-InBev employees and retirees, and their family members. “For more than 78 years, ABECU has provided exceptional financial products and services to our employees and their families, as well as to the members of the St. Louis community through its American Eagle division. We are pleased to continue our heritage with the Credit Union through this sale,” said Nelson Jamel, Vice President of Finance and Solutions at Anheuser-Busch.
