(Aberdeen, June 19, 2012) — Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union (APGFCU) was honored with an award by the Business Education Partnership Advisory Council (BEPAC) in partnership with Cecil County Public Schools (CCPS) at the annual BEPAC recognition breakfast on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Cecil County School of Technology in North East, Md.
Kathy Kunda, BEPAC coordinator, and Dr. D’Ette W. Devine, superintendent of Cecil County Public Schools, presented the award to Liz Leoni-Monti, APGFCU’s director of development for Cecil County and active BEPAC member. The award recognized APGFCU’s 10-year partnership with CCPS and commitment to providing financial education and activities to support its students, families and staff.
Each year, BEPAC hosts a recognition breakfast to honor partner organizations that commit resources to help prepare students to meet job market needs, identify viable career pathways, support lifelong learning and become productive members of the community.
BEPAC is an organization that serves as a sounding board to the Superintendent of Schools for Cecil County to identify strengths, needs and trends in the area of job readiness and student success upon graduation from high school. Its mission is to promote quality education in the Cecil County Public Schools to prepare students to meet job market needs, select satisfying careers, and be good citizens in our community. The collective talents of the organization (comprised of industrial, technology, financial, retail and manufacturing representatives in our region) provide an invaluable resource to the support of Cecil County students’ preparation for the world of work in the twenty-first century.
