(Aberdeen, November 24, 2010)— Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union [APGFCU] hosted a special conference for couples, “It Takes Two: Talk Money with Your Mate,” at the Chesapeake Bay Golf Club at Rising Sun on Saturday, November 6, 2010.  Attracting over 35 couples, the free conference was a unique and interactive learning experience providing guests with insights into their learned financial attitudes and values, tips on how to move forward together, and ways to reach more workable and productive money solutions.

The free, four-hour event began at 8 a.m. with continental breakfast and special gifts for guests, including complimentary 2009 Quicken financial software, a copy of “For Richer, Not Poorer, The Money Book for Couples,” a 14-day free trial membership to a Brick Bodies Fitness Center, and more.

The conference featured four locally-known experts:  Former ABC2News Anchor Terry Owens and his wife, author and radio and television wealth coach, Deborah Owens; and Victor and Lynne Brick, founders of Brick Bodies Fitness Services, Inc. and Lynne Brick’s Health & Fitness.

The conference grew from a similar event for women last year that attracted over 70 guests.  Aligned with APGFCU’s strategic focus to provide free financial literacy education, the conference demonstrates the credit union mission of “People Helping People.”

Membership to APGFCU is free and open to everyone who lives or works in Harford or Cecil County.  For additional information on all of APGFCU’s free educational workshops and conferences, call 410-272-4000, press four, or visit www.APGFCU.com, under the Advice & Education tab.
