(Aberdeen, August 16, 2012) – Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union (APGFCU) hosted its 8th annual Community Invitational tournament for local youth softball and baseball teams on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at the Ripken Youth Baseball Academy in Aberdeen.
Twelve 11-under and 12-under teams from Harford and Cecil counties recreational councils participated in this grand slam tournament, allowing many of them an unprecedented opportunity for tournament play and the “Ripken Experience.”
Four teams for each sport played the semi-finals and then went on to play the final championship game. Trophies were awarded to all players on the first- and second-place tournament teams.
The first- and second-place winners are:
BASEBALL
First-Place: Harford Land Sharks
Second-Place: Emmorton Eagles
SOFTBALL
First-Place: Harford Diamonds
Second-Place: Emmorton Thunder
