Apodaca selected as chief financial officer of Fremont Federal Credit Union
FREMONT, OH (June 16, 2021) — After a national search, Fremont Federal Credit Union has appointed Paul Apodaca as their next Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Apodaca is taking over the role from Paul Howard, who has been the CFO for several years and announced his retirement effective July of 2021.
“I am humbled and honored to have been offered the position of CFO at Fremont. It is a great organization, and I am looking forward to working with Nick and the rest of the senior management team to help the credit union grow even more,” Mr. Apodaca said when asked for a comment.
Paul Apodaca comes to Fremont from First Financial Credit Union, where he has been the Vice President of Finance and Data Analytics since 2013. Before entering the credit union space, Mr. Apodaca worked as the Director of Finance for Futures of Children and as the Finance Manager for WONIK Quartz International Corporation before that.
Nick Cray, the newly appointed CEO of Fremont Federal Credit Union, said, “I am thrilled to be adding Paul to our executive team. He has a wide breadth of knowledge about finance and as much experience to go with it.”
Mr. Apodaca has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Houston and a Master’s of Accountancy from New Mexico State University. He also taught as Adjunct Faculty for several community colleges and universities.
