Clark County Credit Union (CCCU) will award ten scholarships with its annual Smart Start Scholarship, created to help credit union members realize their financial goals and dreams through education. CCCU members (or their children) who meet eligibility requirements and are students who are enrolled in an accredited university, will have the opportunity to be awarded one of ten $1,000 scholarships.
“The Smart Start Scholarship program is impactful for our community in so many ways,” said CEO Matt Kershaw. “This program assists with the expenses of higher education while providing both financial and career stability, two things we hope all of our members can achieve.”
The scholarship is open to CCCU members (or their children) who are in good standing with the credit union and are graduating high school seniors or currently enrolled in a state-accredited college or university for both undergraduate and graduate levels.
The winners are selected based on academics and other activities as well as an essay responding to this year’s writing prompt: A recent topic of discussion for many of our members is how to adjust for inflation. In what ways are you adjusting your money and spending habits to account for inflation in our current economy? Please share some of the financial topics you would want to learn about that would help with your future finances, and why you selected those topics.
