Apply now for the Stan Hollen scholarship to attend Payments University, Developed by CUES and CO-OP Financial Services

MADISON, WI (May 7, 2018) — In honor of retired CO-OP Financial Services CEO Stan Hollen, CUES is offering two full-tuition scholarships to its Payments University, Developed by CUES and CO-OP Financial Services.

“Over the years, Stan has made significant contributions to the industry, which led to his induction into the CUES Hall of Fame in 2003,” said John Pembroke, CUES’ president/CEO. “We’re pleased to pay tribute to him by offering this scholarship.”

CUES and CO-OP Financial Services have developed Payments University for the industry. It features a unique blended learning format, with two live-taught, online learning sessions happening ahead of a two-day, in-person session in Denver, CO, August 13-14, 2018.

“Payments University focuses on practical tools, not just theory. Attendees will leave Payments University armed with everything they need to prepare for an uncertain and rapidly changing competitive landscape, and the ability to develop a comprehensive payments program once they return home,” said Joe Franklin, Vice President, Experiential Marketing and Engagement, for CO-OP.

“We’re pleased to once again work with CO-OP Financial Services to bring Payments University to the industry,” said Pembroke. “One of the unique features of this school is that attendees get to know each other ahead of the in-person classes, so when they meet face-to-face in Denver, they’ve already started connecting. Payments University also includes plenty of networking time, including receptions each day, and dinner on Monday evening. We’ve received tremendous positive feedback from previous attendees on that front.”

Attendees who complete all course work and an assigned project will earn the Certified Payments Strategist (CPS) designation.

Industry leaders interested in applying for the scholarship must be active CUES members and willing to share experiences and insights gained at Payments University through CUES publications. Applications will be evaluated based on financial need and dedication to the credit union profession. The deadline is June 15, 2018.
