On June 12th, 2019 the Delaware Advisory Council on Career and Technical Education presented the Appoquinimink School District National Academy of Finance Advisory Board with an Outstanding Service Award. This award was given to the Appoquinimink District NAF Advisory Board in recognition of their outstanding contributions made to Career and Technical Education. Nicole Hercules, Dover Federal Credit Union Director of Talent Management and President of the Appoquinimink District NAF Advisory Board stated “Dover Federal Credit Union has a strong partnership with the Appoquinimink School District and I am incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to give back to the kids of the community we serve. The group that was honored with this award is made up of individuals that have a heart and desire to see these students succeed, and to give them the tools necessary to develop sound and realistic work habits and entry level skills to prepare them for the workforce.”
The Appoquinimink District NAF Advisory Board was established in the spring of 2017 with the goal of providing support for students and educators within Academy of Finance programs. They first worked to establish committees to assist with the process of building a comprehensive work-based learning program. The Appoquinimink NAF Advisory Board then helped to develop a curriculum for this program, which includes Resume Development, Networking, Interviewing, and Workforce Tips. Remaining a tremendous resource for the students of the Appoquinimink school district, the NAF Advisory Board continues to dedicate itself to truly providing a clear advantage by preparing students for the workforce.
