Ardent Credit Union joins forces with local credit union to fight hunger

Annual Initiative Donates $31,850 and 1,720 Pounds of Food to Combat Food Insecurity Across the Region

PHILADELPHIA, PA (July 23, 2026) |

Ardent Credit Union, a Philadelphia-based member-owned financial cooperative serving more than 34,000 members, is once again joining forces with area credit unions to support Philabundance’s hunger-relief efforts.

Building on the success of previous collaborative efforts, more than a dozen credit unions have come together to support Philabundance, the region’s largest hunger-relief organization, with a collective donation of $31,850 and around 1,720 pounds of nonperishable food. Ardent Credit Union contributed $750 to help Philabundance address rising food insecurity across the Delaware Valley.

“Strong communities are built when we come together to support one another, and that spirit of collaboration is at the heart of what we do as credit unions,” said Rob Werner, President and CEO of Ardent Credit Union. “By joining forces to support Philabundance, we’re helping ensure more of our neighbors have access to the food and resources they need.”

Today’s event took place at Philabundance’s Hunger Relief Center in South Philadelphia. Jenn Pensa, EVP & Chief Operating Officer, represented Ardent among other leaders from local credit unions.

For more than 40 years, Philabundance has worked to provide meals for those in need across the Delaware Valley, working with more than 350 social service agency partners across nine counties to feed more than 90,000 people weekly. The organization distributed 37 million meals in 2025 alone.

Ardent Credit Union, recently named a “Philly Favorite” by the readers of The Philadelphia Inquirer for the third year in a row, maintains deep community roots through partnerships with other local organizations, including the YMCA and Villanova Athletics.
