Ardent Credit Union (ACU) partnered with credit unions throughout the region and local officials for a joint donation and food drive to Philabundance. The combined resources were used to help replenish diminishing supplies in local food pantries and to help combat food insecurity in local communities.
Collectively, Ardent and its credit union partners provided more than $7,300 and 7,380 pounds of non-perishable food items to Philabundance. Representatives from the each of the credit unions and elected officials visited Philabundance’s South Philadelphia warehouse to deliver the collective donations.
“At Ardent, giving back to the communities that we serve has always been a top priority,” said Rob Werner, President & CEO of Ardent Credit Union. “We’re proud to partner with fellow credit unions throughout the region and local legislators to be there for our neighbors in need, and support Philabundance in their efforts to provide families with relief.”
Along with Ardent, the local participating credit unions included American Heritage Federal Credit Union, BHCU, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, Media Members Federal Credit Union, Merck Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union, Norristown Bell Credit Union, Reliance Federal Credit Union, Sun East Federal Credit Union, Superior Federal Credit Union, Tri County Area Federal Credit Union, TruMark Financial® Credit Union, Ukrainian Selfreliance Federal Credit Union, Forge Credit Union, Freedom Credit Union, Philadelphia Letter Carriers Federal Credit Union, and Wawa Credit Union.
Support was also provided by PA State Senator Maria Collett, PA State Representative Jennifer O’Mara, PA State Representative Mike Zab, PA State Senator Katie Muth and PA State Representative Leanne Krueger.
