Arlington Community Federal Credit Union presents Art on the Pike display
ARLINGTON, VA (January 9, 2017) — Arlington Community Federal Credit Union (ACFCU) partnered with Arlington Economic Development Cultural Affairs Arlington Arts and the Columbia Pike Artists Studio (CPAS) to present the visual art installation of 14 CPAS artists currently on display at the Columbia Pike Branch of ACFCU. The reception held November 3, 2016 brought together Arlington County business, artists and political leaders and also highlighted public art installations around Arlington. Local high school students from the Wakefield Take Five Jazz Quintet performed for the reception.
Credit Union CEO Karen Rosales and Susan Soroko, Director, Creative Economy – Arlington Economic Development both recognized how art and business can really synchronize. “The credit union has been generous with installation, with signage, with saying yes to pretty much everything. The artists have been equally amazing” said Soroko during the reception. Rosales added that “there is an incredible vibrancy along Columbia Pike and with this partnership the end result is remarkable.”
Arlington Economic Development Cultural Affairs provides material support to artists and arts organizations, in the form of grants, facilities, and theater technology; through a commitment to integrating award-winning Public Art into the local built environment; and with high quality performing, literary, visual, and new media programs across the county. CPAS provides working spaces for painters, sculptors, printmakers, collage artist, illustrators, and photographers. Both organizations and ACFCU focus on community involvement to improve the lives of all Arlington community members.
