Armed Forces Financial Network steps up as title partner for Inspire Up Foundation’s 2021 GivingTuesdayMilitary campaign

On the eve of Armed Forces Day, the Inspire Up Foundation is proud to announce that Armed Forces Financial Network (AFFN) has signed on as the title partner for the organization’s 2021 GivingTuesdayMilitary campaign which will occur on November 30.

AFFN has donated $10,500 to the Inspire Up Foundation, which is run by the founders behind GivingTuesdayMilitary (GTM), a kindness movement launched in 2019 with sole intent to make intentional kindness go viral in lieu of traditional monetary gifts on GivingTuesday. These funds will allow Inspire Up to provide much needed resources to the changemaking volunteer ambassadors across the globe who organize kindness efforts in their communities. It will provide financial grants to support projects of impact as well as immediate financial support for much needed supplies as these ambassadors coordinate their events across the world.

“One of Armed Forces Financial Network’s core guiding principles is ‘People Helping People’.  So, supporting GivingTuesdayMilitary is appropriate as we look to inspire others and pay it forward,” John Broda, Armed Forces Financial Network President and CEO said. “On behalf of our Member-Owners and Member-Participating AMBA Banks and DCUC Credit Unions, we are honored to partner with the Inspire Up Foundation and the kindness warriors who support GivingTuesdayMilitary. We look forward to another incredible year of doing good and being kind in our military, veteran, and civilian communities at home and around the globe.”

GTM started in 2019 as way to inspire and promote acts of kindness on a day that traditionally focuses on financial gifting. The annual campaign challenges members of the military, their families, veterans, Gold Star Families, Surviving Families and patriotic supporters to identify simple ways to engage in acts of kindness in their communities while fostering connections between the military and civilian populations. At the core, GTM is a grassroots effort to create a ripple of kindness across the globe.

In its inaugural year, GTM participants and ambassadors achieved and surpassed the goal of enacting

1-million acts of kindness. The campaign was shared broadly through social media channels, featured on The Today Show, ABC News and the Kelly Clarkson Show. In 2020, GTM once again surpassed its 1-million acts of kindness goal while also supporting an initiative that generated over 34,000 holiday cards for veterans in hospice care. The GTM message reached more than 82 million individuals with support from national and local news outlets, social media and more.

“A sponsorship of this magnitude is such a blessing and will allow us to further support our incredible kindness ambassadors. These funds will amplify our ability to serve and further the mission of inspiring intentional acts of kindness,” Jessica Manfre, Chief Financial Officer of the Inspire Up Foundation said. “Armed Forces Financial Network is one of those organizations who lives their vision to support military families outside of the financial services they provide and we are honored to have them on-board with us for this 2021 GivingTuesdayMilitary campaign.

AFFN’s support of the military dates back to 1985 when the network was created to world to provide military families an electronic transfer option to access their funds at ATM’s and point of sale terminals in or near military installations across the world.
