MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) is once again partnering with the Peckham Community Partnership Foundation to host the Art from the Heart exhibit, from June 20 – July 18, 2019. The Art from the Heart program provides professional, individualized instruction in the visual arts to artists with significant disabilities and other barriers to employment.
“We are grateful for the ongoing partnership we have with Peckham and value the work they do with local artists. Our foundation, Desk Drawer Fund (DDF), invests in nonprofits that contribute to the five pillars that the DDF supports, including Arts and Culture, and Art from the Heart perfectly aligns with our strategy of giving back to the community,” said Whitney Anderson-Harrell, MSUFCU’s Chief Community Development Officer. “This exhibit provides an amazing opportunity for area residents to view and purchase artwork from talented local artists.”
An opening reception of the exhibit will be held at MSUFCU Headquarters, located at 3777 West Road in East Lansing, on Thursday, June 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Community members and media representatives are invited to attend this free event where they can meet the artists and purchase artwork on display while enjoying refreshments. The exhibit will then be available for community viewing during the Credit Union’s Headquarters’ normal business hours through July 18, 2019.
Peckham Inc. is a nonprofit community vocational rehabilitation organization that values quality, diversity, and performance. MSUFCU helps support Peckham’s programs financially and through its involvement in events such as Art from the Heart.
