Ascend Federal Credit Union makes Training Magazine’s Top 125 for 6th Consecutive Year

This is the 5th consecutive year Ascend has placed in the top 40

TULLAHOMA, TN (June 4, 2020) — Ascend Federal Credit Union, the largest federal credit union in Middle Tennessee, announced today that it has been named to Training magazine’s Top 125 list for the sixth consecutive year. It is also the fifth consecutive year that Ascend has placed in the top 40 on the list. The Top 125 showcases the 125 world class companies that excel at employee training and development.

“To be recognized on a national scale with so many well-known companies and industry sectors is a true honor for our employee training and development team,” said Ascend President and CEO Caren Gabriel. “It also reflects our unwavering dedication to providing the right tools and a culture of learning, reinforcing our commitment to a visionary, creative educational environment for all our staff.”

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Training Top 125 Award winners represent the top learning organizations across the globe with the most successful employee-sponsored training and development programs. The Training Top 125 ranking is determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives, and their effectiveness in terms of business impact.

Judges credited Ascend’s career counseling efforts as a critical component of the credit union’s success and the retention of its employees, including a focus on developing and promoting staff from within the organization. Ascend’s training programs include quarterly evaluations to ensure regular, future-focused feedback with every employee; a formalized career development program to outline career paths and potential opportunities for growth with the organization; and an emerging leader program to identify and develop leadership talent as part of growth and succession planning efforts.
