Associated Credit Union of Texas appoints Clay Franks as President and CEO

LEAGUE CITY, TX (April 30, 2024) — Associated Credit Union of Texas (ACU of Texas) is pleased to announce the appointment of Clay Franks as the credit union’s President and CEO. Following the retirement of CEO Jack Click, the Board of Directors unanimously approved the appointment of Clay Franks to lead ACU of Texas into its next chapter of growth and service excellence.

Clay Franks is a highly accomplished accounting and finance professional with over 30 years in the credit union industry. He served as Chief Financial Officer of ACU of Texas from 2006 to 2022, before being appointed President of the organization. The Board of Directors is thrilled to introduce Clay Franks as our new President and CEO.

John Blair, Chair of the Board of Directors, said, “Clay is a seasoned credit union executive whose expertise, dedication, and enthusiasm have greatly contributed to our Credit Union’s achievements. I am confident that Clay’s leadership will be indispensable as we uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional value and service to our members.”

John also highlighted, “Clay’s profound financial acumen and capabilities have steered ACU of Texas successfully though turbulent economic climates with remarkable competence and professionalism. His leadership promises to sustain the continued success of our financial institution.”

Prior to joining ACU of Texas, Clay worked at Carbide Employees Federal Credit Union, Florida Telco Credit Union (now 121 Financial), and First Florida Credit Union. He held various positions in these credit unions, including Internal Auditor, Vice President of Accounting, Controller, Vice President of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer. His extensive experience and dedication to the credit union industry uniquely qualify him to lead ACU of Texas as President and CEO.

Clay is a graduate of Victoria High School and holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Houston-Victoria. Beyond his professional endeavors, Clay is actively involved in his community, and has served as Board Treasurer for both The Independence Village in Texas City and the League City Little League. Clay has been a resident of League City for 17 years, where he enjoys coaching his son Luke’s baseball team and watching his daughter Paige cheer.
