Association President & CEO earns CUDE certification
HARRISBURG, PA (September 26, 2017) — Pennsylvania Credit Union Association President & CEO Patrick Conway spent September 13-20 in Madison, Wisconsin, at the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) Credit Union Development Education (CUDE) Program. He joined credit union professionals from around the world at the elite school where they experienced renewed relevance of the philosophy, “People Helping People.”
Throughout the program, participants engage in lessons in cooperative principles, credit union philosophy, and international development issues. The program also incorporates challenges that credit unions face today. Becoming CUDE-certified is a commitment that credit union staff and volunteers alike can benefit from through an innovative learning experience.
“Spending a week with my fellow credit union professionals was rejuvenating,” Conway said. “Learning from the speakers and hearing the perspectives of my peers deepened my understanding of the credit union difference. I feel honored and privileged to work in such a unique movement with such great people.”
Conway now joins more than 1,700 credit union staff and volunteers from 35 countries who have earned the title of Credit Union Development Educator. Also graduating from the program was Ed Williams, President & CEO, Discovery Federal Credit Union in Reading, along with 44 credit union professionals from throughout the country. The program began in 1982 and is open to everyone from new employees who need a credit union orientation to seasoned executives who need to recharge.
