ATMIA appoints Wayne Malone and Sal Salpietro as Co-Chairpersons of the U.S. & Americas Regional Board

Sioux Falls, SD (April 1, 2026) |

The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) is proud to announce the appointment of Wayne Malone, Head of ATMs, Cash & Logistics for Fiserv and Sal Salpietro, President & Founder, ATM UP, as co-chairs of the U.S. & Americas regional board.

Every two years the ATMIA U.S. & Americas regional board elects new Co-chairs who volunteer their time and expertise to lead this group and advocate for its members. ATMIA is proud to have U.S. Board members that represent every segment of the industry and the broader membership. And our new Co-chairs follow that path with leaders from both the provider and deployer side of the business.

Wayne Malone, Head of ATMs, Cash & Logistics for Fiserv is a long-time industry veteran who spent most of his career with Citibank as Global Head of ATMs. He also chaired the EFTA (Electronic Funds Transfer Assoc) for several years, sat on the STAR board as well as on the NCR Global Advisory Board.

Sal Salpietro, President & Founder, ATM UP has more that 20 years of experience in the industry as an independent ATM deployer. He founded his business at a time when many organizations were abandoning sponsorships and led its rapid expansion from supporting approximately 1,000 affiliates and their merchants to more than 5,000 in under two years.

We also want to thank the other four candidates who offered to volunteer their time – all of which received many votes.

“Thank you to both Wayne Malone and Sal Salpietro for agreeing to serve as Co-Chairs of ATMIA's US Regional Board,” said Lonnie C. Talbert, President of ATMIA. “I look forward to their leadership, guidance and support of our US Membership and the ATM Industry.”
