United Heritage Credit Union’s Lakeway branch used as backdrop for local news story
AUSTIN, Texas (August 27, 2012) – United Heritage Credit Union was the backdrop for a recent news story featuring the Lake Travis High School football program. Austin’s FOX 7 News set up shop at United Heritage Credit Union’s Lakeway branch on Monday, August 20 for the first stop on their FOX 7 Football Fieldtrip. United Heritage Credit Union was thrilled to be included in the excitement for the upcoming school year and football season at Lake Travis High School, located across the street from the Credit Union’s branch in Lakeway at 3317 S Ranch Rd 620.
FOX 7 News used the United Heritage Credit Union branch as the location for the live 5:00 p.m. evening news feature then moved on to the new Lakeway Regional Medical Center for the 9:00 p.m. feature later in the evening. Dave Cody, sports anchor for FOX 7, discussed the Lake Travis High School football program, including their reigning status as five-time state champions in the 4A conference. He also discussed the popular topic of the Lake Travis Cavaliers going from the 4A level up to the 5A level this year, with the team, coaches, and fans alike believing the team still has a great chance at a 6th state championship during the 2012 season even with the higher level of competition in the 5A conference.
United Heritage Credit Union appreciates the relationship with the Lake Travis High School football team and is proud to display a helmet signed by the entire 2011 football team as well as a recognition award from Lake Travis High School for the Credit Union’s support of the football program. During the 2011 season, United Heritage Credit Union attended two home football games and also participated in the Parade of Champions after the team’s 5th consecutive state championship win, handing out football-themed promotional items and cheering on the team. The sponsorship of the Lake Travis High School football team allows the Credit Union staff to actively participate and engage with the community. United Heritage Credit Union Lakeway branch manager Jennifer Stephens explains, “Being from the Northwest originally, the excitement and grand scale of Texas football was a completely new experience for me. Now I understand why it’s such a big deal! They are an inspirational team and I found myself getting really into the games. I can’t wait for the upcoming 2012 season to begin at Lake Travis High School.” All of the staff at the United Heritage Credit Union Lakeway branch is excited and looking forward to this season of Lake Travis High School football.
