Award Winning Maps Credit Union Selects Open Solutions’ DNA™ Platform with Eye Toward Future
Glastonbury, Conn., January 17, 2012 – Open Solutions Inc.®, a leading provider of integrated enabling technologies for financial service providers throughout the United States, Canada and other international markets, announced today that Marion & Polk Schools Credit Union (Maps Credit Union) has selected Open Solutions’ DNA™ platform for its core processing needs.
Founded in 1935, Maps Credit Union is headquartered in Salem, Ore. and serves over 40,000 members across nine branches. This $400 million asset credit union is an industry innovator, collaborating with other credit unions to form Credit Union Service Organizations (CUSOs) that help save members money while boosting participants’ bottom lines. Sharing Open Solutions’ dedication to industry advocacy, both Maps Credit Union and its CFO, Kevin Cole, have won awards from the Northwest Credit Union Association for their political engagement and awareness-raising efforts around the important role of community based financial institutions in our economy and lives.
After considering core systems from several providers, Maps Credit Union ultimately chose Open Solutions’ DNA platform for its architectural openness, future-forward design and ability to streamline the credit union’s business operations. Using .NET technology, DNA employs a unique member-centric data model that will greatly enhance Maps Credit Union’s workflow, flexibility and productivity. The platform is built on a powerful, centralized Oracle relational database that will allow the credit union to easily customize and enhance the platform with DNAapps™ from Open Solutions, third-parties, and other DNA users. Maps Credit Union will have the ability to create and share its own DNAapps or download them from others on the DNAappstore™ to quickly and easily enhance DNA in response to regulatory, technological, and market changes.
“The advantage of choosing Open Solutions over another vendor is that DNA has a clear vision and detailed roadmap for the future,” stated CJ Daiker, vice president of information technology at Maps Credit Union. “With Open Solutions’ DNAcreator and DNAappstore comes the opportunity to develop efficiencies and core customizations in-house or purchase them, which is very attractive, and aligns with our long-term goals.”
“Open Solutions is a core vendor that can meet our goals and help provide us with real, modern solutions,” added Jill Nowacki, vice president of development at Maps Credit Union. “Selection of Open Solutions’ DNA core platform is paramount to increasing efficiencies across our entire operation.”
In addition to DNA, Maps Credit Union will also implement the DNAmarket™ business intelligence solution, OpenCheck™ item processing suite, DNA – tMagic™ teller capture system, DNAcreditcard™ management module, and the DNAcreator™, DNAconnect Toolkit™, and sqr Toolkit™ integration toolsets. All solutions, including DNA, are to be implemented on-premise.
“Maps Credit Union is a very forward-looking financial institution with strong values of educating its members and providing superior member service,” stated Louis Hernandez, Jr., chairman and CEO of Open Solutions. “Open Solutions is proud to play an integral role in helping this credit union better serve its members and offer best-in-class technology. I look forward to seeing how this innovative and collaborative credit union will use DNAcreator and DNAappstore to solve common problems, improve service and generate additional revenue. We are confident that the members of Maps Credit Union will ultimately benefit from the new efficiencies and enhanced service made possible by DNA.”
