Bay Federal Credit Union employees turn Halloween into epic team building event

CAPITOLA, CA (November 2, 2017) — Bay Federal Credit Union employees embraced the spirit of Halloween with costumes and decorations to thrill members and visitors alike. Spurred on by an internal contest run by Bay Federal’s Senior Leadership Team, employees worked together to transform their branches or departments into things wonderful, frightful, or imaginative for the holiday.

“I love to see our employees come together,” said Carrie Birkhofer, President and CEO of Bay Federal. “Every year, they outdo themselves, and it’s always a delight to arrive at each location to see what they’ve come up with. I really believe that Halloween is the best investment in team building that we could make.”

Ms. Birkhofer and the Credit Union’s Senior Leadership Team lead by example. On Halloween, they donned Sesame Street costumes and traveled from location to location. Bay Federal branches became Toy Story, Little Red Riding Hood, the Roaring 20s, Bayville’s Strange Souls (in the style of American Horror Story’s “Freak Show”), and more.

Some of the Credit Union’s back office staff met ahead of time to plan how they would turn cubicles and hallways into Disneyland, complete with a Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, among other attractions.
