Bay Federal Credit Union Receives MAC Award for Outstanding Marketing Collateral

Capitola, CA – July 1, 2011 – Bay Federal Credit Union was recently honored with a Gold MAC Award at the 25th Anniversary Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC) Annual Conference.

The MAC Awards recognize outstanding marketing achievements within the credit union industry over the past year. Awards were presented in each of 24 categories ranging from advertising and branding to community events and social media usage.

Bay Federal Credit Union won the top award in the Product/Service Brochure category for their newly-designed, ecologically-sensitive, economically-intelligent product cards. Instead of glutting their branches with numerous brochures and pamphlets, the Bay Federal Marketing Team used a “less is more” approach to create seven, 5.5 by 8.5 inch “cards” featuring local, Santa Cruz County photographs, uncluttered designs, and brief descriptions of all Credit Union services. Cards were printed on recycled paper by Community Printers of Santa Cruz.

“By condensing information, reducing paper use, and using Community Printers to produce our materials, we are saving a great deal of money for the Credit Union and supporting local businesses,” said Tonée Picard, Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer. “We’re especially pleased with the photos, most of which were provided by local photographers Rob Watson and Geoff Gilbert.”

As a collaborative network of credit union marketing professionals, MAC aims to cultivate innovation in marketing and provide a forum for marketing professionals to share ideas.
