SEATTLE, WA (May 6, 2025) |
BECU, Washington’s largest credit union, will open new Neighborhood Financial Centers (NFCs) on Bainbridge Island and in Duvall, Washington. The Bainbridge Island NFC opens in late 2025 and the Duvall NFC in 2026.
“Our new NFCs in Bainbridge and Duvall will be our first locations in these communities, making it easier than ever for our members to access in-person financial services. This includes one-on-one support for opening new accounts, loans and mortgages and investments and trust services,” said Jason Rudman, BECU chief member and digital experience officer. “Beyond assisting our members, we also invest deeply in the communities we serve and look forward to building partnerships with nonprofits in these areas.”
The Bainbridge Island and Duvall NFCs will join other recently opened locations in Pierce County, White Center and Spokane. Additionally in 2025, BECU will open future NFCs in Kirkland and Stanwood in the fall.
Purpose-Driven Focus
BECU is a member-owned financial cooperative dedicated to improving the financial well-being of its members and communities. The credit union partners with local nonprofits in its communities who focus on housing stability, access to education, economic development and more. In 2024, BECU donated nearly $9.2 million to nonprofits. As the credit union gets closer to opening on Bainbridge Island and in Duvall, it will look to build partnerships with local nonprofits working to improve financial well-being in the community.
Bainbridge Island NFC
The Bainbridge Island NFC will be located at 275 High School Road Northeast in the Island Village shopping complex. The 1,300-square-foot location will bring in-person and digital services, like Video Banking, to the credit union’s nearly 2,000 members in the area. The NFC is BECU’s first location in Bainbridge Island—and community’s only credit union branch—with the nearest location 35 miles away in Silverdale.
Despite not having a location in the area, BECU has hosted employee Purpose Workshops at IslandWood since 2023. The facility’s design, along with Bainbridge Island’s natural scenery, serves as an inspiring location for employees to connect and lean into the credit union’s community-centered purpose.
Duvall NFC
The Duvall NFC marks BECU’s first location in the Snoqualmie Valley, with the nearest locations currently 10 miles away in Monroe and nine miles away in Redmond. With more than 4,200 members in the community, the Duvall NFC will offer in-person support and Video Banking for on-demand services. The 3,000-square-foot location will be located at 14241 Main Street Northeast.
