Beth Peters, vice president of lending at Unity One Credit Union, receives top industry honors twice in one week
FORT WORTH, TX (May 31, 2016) — Unity One Credit Union would like to express its sincerest congratulations to Beth Peters, vice president of lending, for receiving two prominent industry honors during the month of May.
On May 19, Peters was presented with the Lending Professional of the Year award by the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s Lending Council at the annual Southwest Lending Conference. Five days later, on May 24, Peters was also presented with the Distinguished Service Award by the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions.
Both awards honor Peters’ dedication to the credit union industry’s mission as well as professional accomplishments achieved during her 23 year tenure at Unity One Credit Union.
Among her professional accomplishments, Peters updated the credit union’s lending policies, procedures and rates to make them more competitive and to increase loan approvals, which helped the credit union grow their loans-to-shares ratio from 58 percent in 2013 to 81 percent as of year-end 2015.
Peters has also been a crucial player in many service projects such as the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Union’s annual Shake, Rattle and Bowl event, benefitting Cook Children’s Hospital and annual Christmas parties for students at Sam Rosen and Webb Elementary schools in the Fort Worth Independent School District.
