Bethpage Federal Credit Union continues its Suffolk County expansion with two new branches

East Northport and Centereach Branches Now Open

Bethpage, NY – April 29, 2015 – Bethpage Federal Credit Union, New York State’s largest credit union and Long Island’s leading community financial institution, recently celebrated the grand opening of two new branches in Suffolk County – East Northport and Centereach.  With these additions, Bethpage now has 33 branch locations on Long Island, 14 of which are in Suffolk County.

“Bethpage enriches the lives of Long Islanders with low-cost financial products as well as a robust community outreach program that sponsors and supports many local events and organizations. We are thrilled to continue our expansion into Suffolk County, and are committed to serving the East Northport and Centereach communities,” said Wayne Grossé, President and Chief Executive Officer, Bethpage Federal Credit Union.  “We invite our new neighbors to stop in and experience the many benefits of Bethpage Federal Credit Union.”

The East Northport branch, located at 357 Larkfield Road, East Northport, NY 11731, is 3,400 square feet.  Members have access to a drive-up window, a 24/7 ATM and coin machine, as well as a technology bar with tablets offering online access.  The branch is managed by Lori Malley, a nine-year veteran of Bethpage, who will oversee a staff of seven employees.

The Centereach branch, located at 2245 Middle Country Road, Centereach, NY 11720, is 7,800 square feet.  Members will have access to Spanish and Portuguese speaking representatives, as well as a drive-up window, a 24/7 drive-up ATM, a coin machine and a technology bar with tablets offering online access.  The branch is managed by Pedro Magalhaes, an 11-year veteran of Bethpage who started with the credit union as a teller and held every position within the branch network before becoming branch manager.  He will manage a staff of seven employees.

These two new branches continue the extensive expansion Bethpage has undergone over the past year.   In 2014, Bethpage opened four community branch locations in Baldwin, Albertson, Long Beach, and the Valley Stream King Kullen; as well as locations to serve the LIU Post campus and Nassau University Medical Center.  In the 12 years since Bethpage received its community charter to serve all Long Islanders, it has grown to become the largest credit union in New York State, as well the entire North East region.

Bethpage Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, existing solely to serve its members and has experienced rapid growth in recent years to become a strong alternative to banks.  Bethpage was approved for the largest federal community charter in the U.S. in 2003 and now is New York State’s largest credit union and Long Island’s primary community financial institution with 255,000 members, 33 full service branches and more than 60 shared branches throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties. As a financial cooperative, Bethpage offers the best-in-market rates, low fees and world-class service, and a full menu of personal and commercial financial services.

Bethpage maintains branch locations in Albertson, Baldwin, Bay Shore, Bay Shore King Kullen, Bethpage, Centereach, Central Islip, Commack King Kullen, East Meadow NuHealth Medical Center,
