Bethpage, NY – July 3, 2012 – Bethpage Federal Credit Union, New York State’s largest credit union, announces its expanded support of the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport to become the Presenting Sponsor for the historical theater’s Youth Theater Series.
Now in its 6th season since the theater’s re-opening in 2007, Engeman’s Youth Theater program consists of Children’s Theater Productions, an Education Theater Program, Performing Arts Studio Classes and Performing Arts Studio Summer Camp. Under the sponsorship, Bethpage will help underwrite the creation of newly re-priced and reduced Education Theater tickets that will be made available to all Long Island Elementary School students and work to invite various children’s groups to attend complimentary Educational Theater matinee performances. Bethpage will also provide six scholarship opportunities for students to attend Engeman’s Performing Arts Studio Summer Camp and Performing Arts Studio Classes.
The news regarding Bethpage’s sponsorship was announced today at a press conference at the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport, where North Shore LIJ Health System’s President and CEO Michael J. Dowling also announced its support of the Engeman Theater as its Main Stage Sponsor. “Bethpage is very proud to expand its support of the Engeman Theater,” said Kirk Kordeleski, President and CEO, Bethpage, during his remarks today. “Together with North Shore LIJ, we will help foster an appreciation and awareness for the arts on Long Island, especially among children.”
Bethpage will also continue to partner with Engeman for its Community Give-Back Program, where a series of Bethpage-supported shows at the theater raise money and awareness for different Long Island charities. The next Community Give-Back live performance, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” runs from July 5, 2012 – August 19, 2012 and will help raise money for Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York.
“We are very thankful to Bethpage for their continued support of Engeman. As the Youth Theater Series sponsor, they will not only help expose children to live theater, but help children experience quality theater at a more affordable price,” said Kevin J. O’Neill, Managing Director, John W. Engeman Theater. “We thank Bethpage for helping make that possible.”
The next live theater production in Bethpage’s Youth Theater Series is “Rapunzel – a Tangled Fairytale” running July 14 through August 19 on Saturdays at 11:00 am and Sundays at 10:30 am. Additional shows this year include: “Seussical” in September and October, “Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer” showing November through January, “Pinkalicious” in February and March, “Alice in Wonderland” showing March through May, and “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” in June and July.
Regular ticket prices for reserved seating are $15.00 per person, but can be purchased for $12.00 when using a special “BETHPAGE” promotional code available by visiting www.bethpagefcu.com.
