Long Island-based credit union is newest partner and 41st credit union owner
COLUMBUS, OH (September 16, 2015) — Members Development Company is pleased to announce that Bethpage Federal Credit Union has become its 41st credit union owner and has invested in MDC Class A ownership shares.
“We’re thrilled to have Bethpage onboard,” said Jeff Kline, MDC’s Chief Executive Officer. “Not only does the Credit Union add to our collective strength and capabilities, but it confirms the value of MDC’s collaborative model and mission.”
At $6.1 billion in assets, Bethpage FCU is New York’s largest credit union, and is among the nation’s Top 20 in assets and Top 100 in membership growth over the past 5 years. It serves 265,000 members.
According to Wayne Grossè, Bethpage FCU’s President/CEO, the Credit Union joined MDC based on its expertise, word-of-mouth recommendation and personal experience with management. The Credit Union made its final decision after attending MDC’s August Owner Meeting as a guest.
“We were impressed with the professionalism of the MDC staff, and the quality and relevance of their research,” said Grossè. “We look forward to working collaboratively with MDC’s owner credit unions, which have demonstrated a proven track record of innovation.”
