Bethpage Federal Credit Union President and CEO Wayne N. Grossé named to the 2017 Long Island Business News Hall of Fame

Award honors Long Island’s most prominent business leaders

Bethpage Federal Credit Union President and CEO Wayne N. Grossé was inducted into the Long Island Business News 2017 Hall of Fame.  This prestigious award honors Long Island’s most prominent business leaders for their commitment to excellence and overall contributions to the Long Island community. Grossé was presented with his award at a reception November 7th at the Crest Hollow Country Club.

“Long Island Business News’ Hall of Fame members represent some of the most innovative and successful business men and women on Long Island.  I am honored by be included in this group,” said Grossé.  “I am also very proud of the many accomplishments of the entire Bethpage team, who work alongside me every day to support our members and the communities in which we serve. Caring about our members has been at the heart of our history, and our goal is to help our members lead fuller lives through the financial products and services we provide.”

Grossé was named president and CEO of Bethpage in 2015, after holding the position of Chief Operating Officer for eight years. He joined Bethpage in 1999 as Senior Vice President of Operations and the following year was promoted to Executive Vice President, overseeing the management of the Lending, Business Development, Operations, Marketing, Business Analysis, and Information Services departments.  Over the years, Grossé has led Bethpage to become the 16th largest credit union in the nation, the largest in the Northeast region, and the largest in New York State, with $7.67 billion in assets today.  In its annual exclusive ranking of financial institutions across the country, Bethpage was also recently chosen by Money magazine as the Best Bank in New York State.

Within the credit union industry, Grossé plays an active role in numerous associations and was instrumental in spearheading two breakthrough shared service operations. He is a member of the COOP Board, the National Credit Union Advisory Council, and CUNA Government Affairs Committee, where he serves with key credit union leaders as an advisor to the industry in Washington, DC.

Grossé is the chair of the Family Service League and is on the board of the Long Island Association. He was a board member for the NYCE ATM Network for four years, and served on the Long Island Council of the New York State Credit Union League for more than 11 years. Additionally, he has held local board positions on the SUNY Farmingdale Foundation and Huntington Chamber of Commerce.

Bethpage hit its 75th year milestone in 2016 as it maintained its position as the largest credit union in the Northeast, with asset growth reaching an all-time high.  “We attribute our continued growth to our ongoing commitment to enriching the lives of our members and employees, both of whom are our greatest assets,” continued Grossé. In 2016, Bethpage was named among the Best Companies to work for in New York State.
