Black Hills Federal Credit Union begins renovations on new Billings location

RAPID CITY, SD (September 1, 2023) — Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) officially began renovating its newest location in Billings, Montana, on Thursday.

Located at 4002 Montana Sapphire Dr. near the Shiloh Conservation Area, the new Member Service Center will provide the city and other outlying communities west of Billings with convenient access closer to home.

“It’s an exciting time to be in Billings as the city continues to expand,” said Jerry Schmidt, president and CEO. “Coming from western South Dakota, we have found many commonalities and felt right at home with the people of Montana.”

Formerly a restaurant, the space included kitchen and dining equipment. Remaining true to its mission of improving lives, BHFCU donated the pieces to the non-profit Tumbleweed to support its youth culinary program.

“As a credit union, we exist to serve our members and the community,” explained Schmidt. “That cooperative philosophy leads us to help charitable organizations do good. We’re thrilled to pass along this equipment to Tumbleweed and see it used in such a worthwhile manner.”

The full-service Billings Shiloh branch will feature Interactive Teller Machine technology. This technology allows BHFCU to offer extended service hours Monday through Saturday and members the ability to work directly with a teller from the comfort of their vehicle.

The Shiloh location will be BHFCU’s second Billings location and 20th overall. Construction will get underway immediately.
