Black Hills Federal Credit Union funds over three days of HOPE

Black Hills Federal Credit Union is pleased to offer a donation of $1,800 to the HOPE Center in Rapid City.

The HOPE Center provides basic, unique, and unduplicated services to community members in need of assistance. Like BHFCU, the organization strives to improve lives every day. The center serves 200-250 guests daily, with the average cost at $500 to provide one day of service. We are happy to help cover their expenses so they can utilize funds for other items they really need.

“We have made it a yearly tradition to contribute to the HOPE Center’s mission,” said Kristen Stephens, collection specialist. “Our initial goal was to raise money to provide two days of HOPE services, so we were elated when we surpassed that goal to provide over three days!”

Although our annual free throw competition, “Baskets of HOPE,” could not be held this year, the team was just as passionate. A pivot to raffling off “Baskets of HOPE” full of goodies allowed staff to have fun while raising money for a worthwhile cause. Funds raised through the raffle, Jeans Day donations, and an additional corporate contribution allowed BHFCU to donate $1,800.

BHFCU supports community needs through corporate contributions, employee fundraisers and Jeans Day donations, and contributions from members, staff, and community supporters to the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
