Members, special guests, staff and the Stoughton community were invited to the Grand Opening of Blackhawk Community Credit Union’s sixth branch, located at 1525 US Highway 51-138 in Stoughton, WI. Festivities took place the week of July 26-30th with the grand opening and a ribbon cutting dedication on July 28th. Two additional guests were charter members Harry and Helen Harnack, who reside in Stoughton.

Visitors to the grand opening event were invited to tour the new facilities and take advantage of several specials available at the Stoughton location.   The grand opening featured food and refreshments from local businesses, a prize drawing and silent auction.  Combined with the auction was a special “jeans day” for staff, which raised over $600 for the local Stoughton food pantry.

“The credit union saw a need to grow in this area due to the membership demographics and opportunities to better service our communities and charter expansion.  This expansion allows us to make our services as convenient as possible to as many people as possible,”  BHCCU Marketing Director, Donna Wagner explained.  The new branch design is very open and inviting, offering some self-service options for members, as well as an interactive computer area for members to use for online banking and other credit union services.  The Stoughton branch is a full service financial facility featuring three drive-up lanes, an ATM machine, a mortgage loan officer and safe deposit boxes. Branch manager Sandra Burger oversees a staff of 6.

Two other Blackhawk Community CU branches recently underwent long-planned renovations, which allow for better member service and options for credit union members.
