Blue FCU eliminates vendors, reduces expenses, reins in data
Adoption of a core-centric approach to technology produces immediate results
ROCKY HILL, CT (September 17, 2019) — As a charter member of DaLand CUSO’s CODE Council, Blue Federal Credit Union ($1.1B assets, 85,000 members) has taken a critical step on its core-centric technology journey by deploying DaLand’s Member Gravitation Experience. By simply extending the functionality of a credit union’s core data processing system, the Member Gravitation Experience eliminates dependency on traditional online lending and membership platforms. This is part of an ongoing effort to optimize the credit union’s Corelation KeyStone core data processing system.
This core-centric approach will allow Blue to regain control of its data by eliminating data silos, centralizing data on the core, and extending that data to the member through any digital channel or portal. In deploying the Member Gravitation Experience, Blue FCU is turning its technology into revenue centers and anticipates realizing more than $100,000 in savings per year. The credit union eliminated one ancillary vendor completely and reduced reliance on another.
“In today’s marketplace, we know we need to focus on being extremely nimble,” said Blue CEO Stephanie Teubner. “In terms of both expense and lost opportunity, we simply can’t afford to let all of these platform providers hold us and our data hostage.”
“Our core-centric approach also gives credit unions greater control over a consistent member experience,” added DaLand CEO Jeff Levesque. “Since each touchpoint becomes just another extension of the core, there’s no need to worry about matching the look and feel of platforms from different vendors.”
