We are excited to invite you to join the Boys and Girls Club of Westminster and First Financial Federal Credit Union on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 4 PM EST to see the impact of the Power Hour Program on the lives of at-risk youth. Additionally, Carroll County Public Schools Superintendent, Steven Lockard will be in attendance.
First Financial provided a $50,000 grant to the Boys and Girls Club of Westminster in October 2018 to fund the Power Hour Program. This grant has enabled the Boys and Girls Club to provide individualized academic assistance to students in core subject areas, helping them strengthen their skill sets, become more confident learners and putting them on the path to scholastic success. The program is already starting to pay off for the students, with passing rate between 80% and 100% for math and 90% to 100% for language arts.
Both organizations are excited to share the impact of this program with the community and are inviting the press to come to join the students during Power Hour at 4 PM on Wednesday, February 27th. First Financial will be teaching financial literacy to the elementary age children, and representatives from both organizations will be present to answer any questions.
Event Location:
