Bragg Mutual Federal Credit Union expands to serve more communities

Bragg Mutual Extends Reach to 1.8 Million People

Bragg Mutual Federal Credit Union, one of North Carolina’s fastest growing credit unions, has extended service offerings across the Carolinas. The credit union, which has served Cumberland and Harnett counties in North Carolina since 1952, has been approved by the National Credit Union Association to serve 301 census tracts.

In total, Bragg Mutual can now serve 26 counties in North Carolina and seven in South Carolina. Many of the areas are deemed underserved. Over the past three years, the credit union has grown from $66.1 million in total assets to more than $95 million, a 43.8% increase.

“We are very excited to help hundreds of thousands of Carolinians with not just checking, savings and loans, but financial guidance and one-on-one coaching,” said Bragg Mutual CEO Stephen J. Foley. “At Bragg Mutual, we have some of the highest rated customer service in the industry and can offer people with a broader range of financial tools and products.”

Members of Bragg Mutual have more direct, surcharge-free access to their money than most traditional bank customers with access to more than 30,000 ATMs and 5,000 shared branches nationwide. With the credit union’s Debit Card Round-Up feature, purchases can be rounded up to the nearest dollar with the difference deposited straight into one’s savings account. In addition to serving everyday banking needs, Bragg Mutual offers lower loan rates and higher yields on savings.

“With our unique banking features and our commitment to empowering members to live confident financial lives, Bragg Mutual becomes an easy choice,” Foley said. “Wherever you are in your financial journey, we’re here for you.”
