Bruce Foulke, President/CEO of American Heritage Federal Credit Union, elected as Treasurer of the World Council of Credit Unions

PHILADELPHIA, PA (August 31, 2016) — On July 19, 2016 Bruce K. Foulke, President/CEO of American Heritage Federal Credit Union, was elected as Treasurer of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) during its World Credit Union Conference Annual General Meeting in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

World Council has implemented more than 290 technical assistance programs in 71 countries. Worldwide, 57,000 credit unions in 105 countries serve 217 million people. Learn more about World Council’s impact around the world at www.woccu.org

World Council of Credit Unions is the global trade association and development agency for credit unions. World Council promotes the sustainable development of credit unions and other financial cooperatives around the world to empower people through access to high quality and affordable financial services. World Council advocates on behalf of the global credit union system before international organizations and works with national governments to improve legislation and regulation. Its technical assistance programs introduce new tools and technologies to strengthen credit unions’ financial performance and increase their outreach.

Foulke joined WOCCU’s advisory committee, became a board member back in 2012, and has been instrumental part of their cause and awareness.

Since 1979, Foulke has been President/CEO of American Heritage Federal Credit Union. His career began when American Heritage was a $4 million, four employees, 4,000 member credit union. Today, the credit union boasts over $1.769 billion in assets over 150,000 members with 500 employees, 32 branches and over 800 sponsor companies. Foulke earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Business Administration from North Carolina State University.
