Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union donates $12,771 to Hospice Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY (September 19, 2016) — On Wednesday, August 17th, Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union hosted their 3rd Annual Charity Golf Outing to benefit Hospice Buffalo. Hospice Buffalo is Western New York’s community based healthcare organization dedicated to the care and support of individuals with a serious or end of life illness.

This year’s Charity Golf Outing raised $12,771.85 which was presented to Hospice Buffalo at the Credit Union branch on Wednesday, September 14th.

“We are truly blessed to have the support of Buffalo Metropolitan FCU in our community. The money raised from this golf outing will support the 600+ patients we serve every day, as well as their families,” states David Yacono, Special Events Coordinator for Hospice Buffalo.

In addition to the Charity Golf Outing, the Credit Union held employee dress-down days throughout the year in which staff donated $5.00 to wear jeans on designated days. Kelly Snekser, a Loan Officer at Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union who coordinated the dress-down days says, “We help out in any way we can when it comes to raising funds and awareness for a good cause. Employees also put a pool of money together to be a Gold Sponsor at the Credit Union’s Charity Golf Outing.”

Over the past three years all of Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union’s Charity Golf Outings have raised over $29,000.00 for local charities.

“We could have not done it without the support from our golfers and sponsors and the hard work and dedication from our staff and Board of Directors. We hope to make this an annual event that will bring the community together and raise funds for an important organization every year,” says Jeanne Stadler, CEO of Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union says.
