Call for Entries: XDI’s Credit Union Chili Challenge

Xpress Data, Inc. (XDI) will host its fifth annual Credit Union Chili Challenge on Saturday, Aug. 5 at the world-famous Del Mar Thoroughbred Club racetrack. More than 20 credit unions will travel from as far away as New Orleans to the gorgeous beach town of Del Mar, Calif., to compete for prize money totaling $14,000 to be donated to the charity of their choice.

The winner of the event, which is officially sanctioned by the International Chili Society, will earn the right to compete in the ICS World’s Championship Chili Cookoff, scheduled for Oct. 20-22 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nev.

XDI’s Chili Challenge grows larger every year, thanks to the continued popularity of food trends and cooking competition shows. Credit unions that can’t make the trip to California to compete can encourage teambuilding and employee engagement at home by hosting their own chili cookoff.

For the first time, XDI will provide credit unions with a free chili cookoff kit that includes step-by-step instructions and electronic versions of all the documents a credit union needs to make the event a success. “A chili cookoff is a great experience for all involved,” said XDI President Mike Cooper. “We want all credit unions to share in that fun. And of course, if they want to compete in our CU Chili Challenge, all the better.”
