Chris began his career in the securities industry before serving nearly 13 years in several regulatory leadership roles for the State of Colorado. Since 2006, he held Commissioner titles spanning Financial Services, Banking and Securities. He also served a brief stint as the Deputy Executive Director of Colorado’s Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). Chris is known for working across stakeholder groups with varying agendas to create positive outcomes. Chris has a passion for the emerging possibilities available for financial institutions to better serve the needs of consumers and is a sought-after speaker.
Just like Chris’ diverse background, his new role at Canvas will focus across a broad scope of responsibilities including leading risk, internal audit, advocacy and exploration for the credit union. “Joining the Canvas team is a dream. As a board member, I saw first-hand how this credit union is uniquely leveraging the cooperative business model to manifest positive change. I can’t wait to jump in. I know Canvas is helping Coloradoans afford life and I’m confident that together we will be able to dream even bigger and make those dreams a reality.
