Canvas Credit Union’s Foundation awards $43,000 in college scholarships

Twenty-eight outstanding Colorado students honored at annual celebration.

DENVER, CO (June 13, 2019) — Canvas Credit Union, along with its Dedicate to Graduate Foundation, presented a total of $43,000 in college scholarships at their annual awards banquet, held at the Double Tree Hotel in Thornton, on June 1, 2019. Scholarship recipients included 27 metro-area and northern Colorado high school graduates, and a Canvas Credit Union member who just completed her sophomore year at Baylor University.

Supported by the Dedicate to Graduate Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization, these scholarships are recognition of outstanding achievement, both in school and in the community. Since 2017, Canvas Credit Union’s annual scholarship programs have awarded more than $150,000 to help students pay for college expenses.

“Each year this event brings joy to my heart,” said Malcolm Johnson, Director of Public Relations and Community Involvement. “This is a celebration of the exceptional young adults in our communities. They maintain impressive grade point averages while participating in a variety of school, work, and volunteer activities. It’s an honor to support these students. They are our future!”
