Capital Credit Union’s donation helps local Children’s Miracle Network hospital receive $25,000
GREEN BAY, WI (October 31, 2016) — Capital Credit Union donated $1,945.20 to Shop for Miracles, a Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids) fundraiser that supports Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals.
The fundraiser asks credit unions to participate by making a donation to local CMN hospitals based on their number of debit cardholders. Donations are matched up to $500,000 by CO-OP Financial Services, a provider of ATM, card payment and mobile services for credit unions.
By participating in this event, Capital Credit Union helped the Credit Union Association of Dakotas (CUAD) obtain an additional $25,000 donation for Sanford Children’s, the state’s local CMN hospital. This opportunity was presented by CO-OP Financial Services, which awarded the additional $25,000 to the state with the highest percentage of credit unions participating.
“Shop for Miracles gives us the opportunity to join forces with credit unions nationwide to help make an even bigger difference in the lives of people in our local community, as well as our neighbors in other states,” shares Jim Schaefbauer, vice president of member services east region. “It’s another example of the credit union difference.”
Capital Credit Union has supported CU4Kids and CMN hospitals in the past, most recently by participating in Miracle Jeans Day on September 14. The credit union had 86 employees participate in the fundraiser, raising $430 for local CMN hospitals.
“Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo values the partnership of credit unions from all across the state, and their year round fundraising efforts through Credit Unions for Kids,” shares Emily McDaniel, Sanford Health Foundation Development Associate. “Thousands of dollars are raised each year for Children’s Miracle Network at Sanford Children’s that benefits sick and injured children from all across North Dakota.”
